Time has preserved the luminous memories.

Oriya Sadhavas: The days of sea traders

The story of Sadhavas is the story of maritime trade and tradition. Sea Traders, literally known as Sadhavas, went to distant lands like Bali, Sumatra, Indonesia etc with their ships. They used to navigate the sea observing heavenly bodies on the sky. They played an important role in the development of Orissa. The Sadhavas culture is critical reminder of our shrinking maritime trade in modern Orissa.

Great Sons of Soil

When the state was in deep identity crisis due to language uprising, they gave the call, ‘Orissa for Oriyas’.
